Side channel blower (also named: Regenerative blower, Ring blower, Vortex blower)
are used everywhere when it is necessary to move air or gas (with vacuum or pressure).
Side channel blowers are build in different sizes and technic depending on the air flow
or pressure / vacuum that is needed:
single stage ring blower for medium air volumes
double stage ring blower for higher pressures
double flute ring blower for higher air volumes
single stage high pressure ring blower for high pressures
double stage high pressure ring blower for higher pressures
three stage high pressure blower for very high pressures
Side channel blower - Function
while the resulting centrifugal force pushes the gas outwards into the side channel.

Mechanical engineering
Within mechanical engineering and construction, side channel blowers are used everywhere,
where it is necessary to compress or to suction air and various gases. They are for example
frequently used in vacuum grippers to transport flat pieces.
Another frequent usage is to dry surfaces after galvanic baths or cleaning with water. Here the high speed
of air flow, typically increased by air knives, is used to forcibly remove the droplets.
Construction
Ring blowers are also used, for example remediating damage caused by water. The aim is to remove
humidity from a layer within the wall, usually the insulation layer. Dry air is pressed into the wet insulation layer or under different operating
principles, the air is being sucked out of it, the warm air slowly absorbs the humidity and removes it from the contaminated layer. A certain
pressure is needed to create an airflow within the dense insulation layer. For removing larger ammounts of water, side channel blowers are
used as well. Water can be sucked out of the insulation layer and is then removed in a separator. On the other hand, clean water can also be
pressed into the insulation layer to purge it of possible contaminents.
